Look for small red bumps, blisters or open sores in and around the vagina, buttocks, and inner thighs. These symptoms could lead to pain, itching or irritation in those areas. Sometimes sores might develop inside the urethra, the tube that carries urine from the bladder. This would make urination very painful. Feeling sick, and having a fever and body aches might also be a sign of infection.
